Come learn what the Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) is all about! We will have attending physicians from the Emergency Department share their take on the field of EM, including what to expect, opportunities, typical day in the life, and exciting cases!
We are a student-run organization dedicated to fostering interest in the exciting practice of Emergency Medicine. The mission of the EMIG is to expose medical students to the specialty of Emergency Medicine through a myriad of interactive lunch talks, skills workshops, and emergency department shadowing experience in both the Banner - UMC Tucson and South Campus locations.
For students aspiring to EM residency, our EMIG is privileged to have motivated faculty mentors willing to facilitate student matching with clinical mentors and EM research opportunities, with the overarching goal of developing students well suited and well prepared for EM residency applications.
EMIG is a very active club with monthly lunch talks (open to all) as well as monthly skills sessions (for EMIG members). We are also very open to new ideas and your suggestions in terms of providing EM-related opportunities and information to UACOM medical students.
Lunch will be provided! Please sign up so we know how much food to order. If you sign up and will no longer be coming, please let us know so we can adjust accordingly.
Location: This year our first meeting will be held in the EM conference room on the 4th floor in the library.
